Name : EU-MUC7a,                          monoclonal anti-MUC7

Isotype : IgG1,    K light chain

Origin, source : Female BALB/C, 6 week old mice were immunised with a synthetic peptide (Lum7-1) coupled to  KLH ( Keyhole limpet hemacyanin). The peptide of 17amino acids ( E G R E R D H E L R H R R H H H Q )  is located in the N-terminal part of  the MUC7 protein whitin the Histatin-like domain.  The parental  myeloma cell line was sp2/0. The hybridomas were creened on ELISA assay against a purofied peparation of MUC7.

Cross-reactivity : On ELISA assay the EU-MUC7a antibody does not cross-react with other mucins (MUC2 red-unred, MUC5AC, MUC6, MUC5B, MUC4 N-terminal recombinant protein)  or with blood-group substances (substances A, H, Lea, Leb from ovarian cyst fluid).

Binding Assays : The EU-MUC7a antibody was tested on Elisa Assay with a purified preparation of MUC7 and with fresh saliva. The antibody showed strong reactivity with the purified preparation and with the saliva.

Immunoblotting: EU-MUC7a recognizes specifically the MUC7 protein in Saliva.

Immunohistochemistry:

The results of immunohistology show that the antibody stains the tissues as expected and do not show non-specific staining in other tissues.
