Eleven members of the UCL community received Queen's Birthday Honours in June 2006.
They are:

Chief Constable Richard Brunstrom (MSc UCL Biology 1976): Queen's Police Medal
Dr Sheila Cheeroth (UCL Medical School 1988): Officer of the Order of the British Empire, for services to refugee doctors and to healthcare
Professor Andrew Fabian (PhD UCL Physics & Astronomy 1971): Officer of the Order of the British Empire, for services to science

Wayne Hemingway (UCL Geography 1982; Vice-President of the Campaign for UCL): Member of the Order of British Empire, for services to the design and fashion industries
Professor Dame Carole Jordan (UCL Astronomy 1962; PhD Astronomy 1965; Fellow 1991): Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire, for services to physics and astronomy
Nahid Majid (UCL Bartlett School 1992; MPhil Planning Studies 1998): Officer of the Order of the British Empire, for services to diversity
Dr Charles McConnachie (UCL Medical School 1961): OBE, Diplomatics and Overseas List, for services to healthcare and development in South Africa
Professor Andrew Tomkins (UCL Medical School 1966): Director, Centre for International Child Health, UCL Institute of Child Health: Officer of the Order of the British Empire, for services to healthcare in developing countries
