Love Brid

Love Brid
2009

Love Brid is an animated postcard, a loving tribute to the timeless charms of the seaside, and a colourful rollercoaster ride through the coastal town of Bridlington (Brid) in North Yorkshire and its many unique attractions recorded on location over a few days in August 2009.

Love Brid has been made with a view to an online/iPhone context and is intended to be browsed interactively as a series of stills, or digital flipbook, as well as be seen as a linear animated film.

Love Brid is 3 mins 20 seconds long, please click here to view it on the Animate Projects website.

SEASCAPE consists of a series of gradually unfolding digital seascapes created using imagery captured by webcams installed at five key coastal vantage points between Margate and Portsmouth. Sited at each location for up to a year before the start of the show, the webcams record the endless fluctuations in the light that are a characteristic feature of the English coastline and whose ever-changing nature has attracted painters for generations.

2008

In June 2008 a webcam was installed overlooking Harewood House’s classical ‘Capability’ Brown landscape. The webcam is transmitting and recording images at the rate of a pixel a second so that a whole image represents the previous 21.33 hours. Each image is collected from top to bottom and left to right in horizontal bands continuously.
