Larisa Leifland Berntsson

Larisa has been teaching Russian as a Foreign Language ever since she graduated from Saint Petersburg State University (Russia) in 2011. She was later employed by the same university as a Russian language testing specialist, before working as a Russian language teacher at an acclaimed private language school in London. She is passionate about her profession and sees herself as a friendly, helpful and creative teacher who inspires students.
 
Besides being a teacher, Larisa is a certified Test of Russian as a Foreign Language (TRKI) examiner and item writer. She has developed extensive exam material designated to testing everything from grammar and writing skills to listening and speaking ability. In addition, she has educated teachers in how to conduct and prepare students for exams at language schools across Europe and Asia. Recently, she successfully launched a project to make TRKI available on prominent online education platform Coursera.  
 
Having significant experience of working with different kinds of students, Larisa has developed an effective teaching style that is highly communicative and adapts all aspects of language learning to suit the students’ proficiency level and needs.
