Leo Neuringer's Changemakers Project Awarded UCL Grant
8 February 2018
UCL Institute of the Americas would like to warmly congratulate our Globalisation and Latin American Development MSc student Leo Neuringer on his successful bid for funding from the UCL Changemakers initiative for his project The UCL Americas Journal Club (UCLAJC).
The project's goal is to foster a platform for inter-departmental and
inter-level connections and to create an informal arena for-students
by-students to practice presentation skills and demonstrate what different
levels of research in different disciplines entail.
In practice, participants in the club will hold bi-weekly sessions where postgraduate researchers from a variety
of disciplines present research to a diverse audience of students before
leading a critical discussion. The research doesn't need to be their own, just
something forthcoming on or around the Americas. Some of the academic departments with significant links to UCL Americas are Economics, Political
Science, Anthropology, Geography, Arts & Sciences, History, Development and
Planning Unit, Archaeology, ESPS, and SELCS.
The first meeting will take place on Tuesday 20th February at 6pm, at the UCL Institute of the Americas Seminar Room 105, 51 Gordon Square, London WC1H 0PN.
Join and follow the AJC Facebook community here or e-mail Leo directly on leo.neuringer.12@ucl.ac.uk for more information.
In order to drive awareness and allow UCL students to make use of their creativity, the Americas Journal Club will be holding a poster design contest. Details on the contest can be found via this link.
