This module covers the art and archaeology of Early Imperial period from the unification of China to the end of the Tang dynasty (3rd cent BC - AD 900).
The module will explore Chinese tombs, temples, settlements and artefacts. It aims at understanding everyday life, religious ideas and social customs of people in early China using archaeological and art historical evidence as well as transmitted historic data.
