UCL Arts & Humanities departments rank in Guardian University Guide 2025 top ten

We're delighted to see UCL Arts & Humanities departments ranked in the top ten of the Guardian's subject tables, showcasing the best universities for student experience.
This year’s Guardian University Guide 2025, published on 9 September 2024, has ranked several of the faculty's subjects in the top ten of the subject tables, showcasing the high quality experience our students have while studying at UCL Arts & Humanities.
- UCL English ranked 5th in the English subject table.
- UCL Greek and Latin ranked 7th in the Classics and Ancient History subject table.
- UCL Philosophy ranked 6th in the Philosophy subject table.
- UCL is ranked joint 8th for Languages and Linguistics, including our departments UCL Slavonic and East European Studies (SSEES) and UCL School of European Languages, Culture and Society (SELCS).
- UCL Slade School of Fine Art ranked 4th in the Fine Art subject table.
The Guardian rankings look at which universities give their students the best experience. Universities are ranked through eight different scores, which form a total out of 100. These include what students say about their teaching and feedback in the annual National Student Survey. Find out more on how to use these rankings.
The Guardian University Guide 2025 was published on 9 September 2024 and ranked UCL 9th overall.
