The Danish Royal Family
Denmark is one of the oldest monarchies in the world. The royal palace is called Amalienborg (pictured) and the present queen is Queen Margrethe II of Denmark. In general, Danes are great royalists, and every year on the queen's birthday, the 16th of April, children and adults from all over Copenhagen gather in the square in front of the palace with Danish flags in order to celebrate her. In the picture you see the Danish queen and her French husband, Henri de Montpassant. Behind them are from the left Prince Joachim, his wife Princess Alexandra and Crown Prince Frederik.
