Asmera: the capital city
of Eritrea, has a moderate Mediterranean climate with plenty of sunshine
throughout the year. Asmara is situated on the highland plateu called
Kebesa. The city has preserved its 20th century Modernist Italian architectural
buildings which now are considered as a possible international cultural heritage
and Asmara as an Art Deco capital by UNESCO. |

Clouds below you: A carpet
of clouds covers the land below you as you descend through the green
belt of Eritrea. |

You can experience three seasons in two hours with breath-stopping scenery on the way down to Massawa
(Mi'tuwa'e). |

Baboons: On the
way to the Red Sea through the beautiful green belt you will find
baboons. They are beautiful creatures to look at. They are friendly. |

Clouds above you: As you descend the
steep eastern escarpment you pass through the cloud and just above you
you start seeing the clouds as usual. |

|
The Clear Red Sea waters and Scuba-Diving: As you
reach the Red Sea clean and unpolluted beaches await you. You can scuba dive in the
clear waters, and see some astonishing fish and the colourful coral reef.

Massawa: is
one of the ports of the country. You can enjoy eating fresh fish
and shrimps as well as gambery (a delicious fish and sea food)
just caught from the sea. You can also enjoy the 17th century Persian/Byzantine architecture. |

Mariam Daarit (Mary of the Baobab): is a chapel encaved
in the stem of a Baobab tree found in the city of Keren. It is
visited by thousands every year. The tree was planted in the late
Middle ages. During World War II, when the British air raided the place
where Italian soldoers sought refuge, although the tree was partially
hit, no one of the people inside were injured. Every year in May
thousands of Christian and Muslim Eritrean pilgrims visit Maryam
Da'arit. Maryam Da'arit is also celebrated by Eritreans across the

Sagla: Filfil is a trouristic area on the way to Massawa. It
is a stop to have a barbecue. You can find wonderful wildlife animals and natural vegetation including trees
called Sagla. |
