The Bartlett faculty is situated across three locations in the heart of central and east London.

With a wealth of diverse resources, communities and history on our doorstep, our London setting puts us in a unique position to understand and directly impact the built environment field. We work with local communities and global organisations to find bold new solutions for pressing challenges facing London and cities around the word.

For our students, joining The Bartlett offers an exciting chance to learn in the world’s top ranked student city (QS 2024). You’ll never be short of inspiration in London’s vast array of culture, design and global enterprise.

The Bartlett’s three locations

The Bartlett is home to 13 schools and institutes with a community of more than 5,000 students and staff. We are located in buildings across UCL’s Bloomsbury campus in central London, as well as two neighbouring locations in the East Bank development in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, Stratford.

Each of our locations offers state-of-the art facilities including teaching and learning spaces, design studios, making workshops, laboratories, libraries and public exhibition spaces.

Bloomsbury

Our Bloomsbury campus has been UCL’s home since the university was founded in 1826. Today this central London hub offers a wealth of opportunities and facilities for students.

The Bartlett’s schools and institutes are located in several Bloomsbury buildings, including the iconic 22 Gordon Street building, home to The Bartlett School of Architecture.

East London

The Bartlett’s two neighbouring locations in east London are part of the East Bank development, a new London powerhouse for innovation, creativity and learning in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

Here we offer exciting new degree programmes, research facilities and community engagement spaces with the scale to tackle the biggest challenges facing our societies and the planet.

We create innovation by breaking down the boundaries of traditional academia, and connecting with local London communities and partners to re-shape the way we think about cities, resources and technology.

Here East

Here East is an innovation and technology hub with ground-breaking research facilities in transport, robotics, manufacturing, architecture, infrastructure and environmental analysis.

We also offer creative design learning using film and performance, and robotic and networked screen technologies, at our Here East building.

Our Here East location is a unique collaboration between The Bartlett, UCL’s Faculty of the Built Environment, and the UCL Faculty of Engineering Science
