UCL Institute for Sustainable Heritage research engages with complex, real-world heritage issues that demand world-class research expertise from numerous disciplines.

These projects inlcude a diverse range of topics, including examining the effects of climate and climate change on historic objects and sites; studies of the conservation of plastic artefacts and the condition of books in major libraries; and analysing gaseous emissions and the smell of heritage objects.
