James Long is a student in the 2024-25 cohort of UCL Institute for Innovation and Public Purpose (IIPP)'s Master of Public Administration (MPA).
Prior to enrolling in the MPA in Innovation, Public Policy, and Public Value, Jamie worked as Public Affairs and Communications Manager for Novo Nordisk in Ireland, overseeing external messaging, strategy, and advocacy. He previously served as a public relations and media adviser to Ireland’s Minister for European Affairs and Minister for Sport and the Gaeltacht. Jamie holds an honours degree in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics from University College Dublin and has held several non-executive leadership roles, including as a member of Fianna Fáil’s National Executive Committee, Vice President of the Party’s national youth wing, and the US Embassy Ireland’s Young Leaders Council. Jamie is deeply committed to public service and aims to leverage his MPA experience to tackle complex policy challenges and drive positive change in Ireland.
