Sam Fleischman is a student in the 2024-25 cohort of UCL Institute for Innovation and Public Purpose (IIPP)'s Master of Public Administration (MPA).
Sam Fleischman comes to IIPP with a background in social justice and trade unionism. As a strategic researcher at Portabella Advisors, he worked with grassroots power building organizations to deepen their civic engagement work and develop programs that effectively leverage the power of their community to create long-term, systemic change. As a labour organiser, Sam has supported unionisation efforts in a variety of industries, training workers in organising strategy and developing a local network of activists to support new campaigns. These experiences have led Sam to explore how unions, government, and business can partner to develop stakeholder governance and workplace democracy initiatives that empower communities, grow economies, and add public value.
