Bridging the Gaps Final Event Speakers 2-4pm followed by a drinks reception and poster session from 4-6pm The challenges of sustainability are many and varied: pollution, renewable energy, resource management, traffic congestion, and pressure on housing stock are only a few of the areas covered. In many cases taking a cross disciplinary approach to sustainability problems can provide novel insights and fresh solutions. The EPSRC funded programme Bridging the Gaps: Sustainable Urban Spaces (www.ucl.ac.uk/btg) was designed to encourage academics to cross traditional boundaries and formulate new research questions, and new ways of working. The programme came to an end in February and the programme held in their final event on the 16th of February. The Bridging the Gaps programme ran from 2008 with the aim of stimulating interdisciplinary research into sustainability in the urban environment. During the course of the programme we have worked with 26 departments from 6 UCL faculties and we have funded over 50 collaborations between researchers. On this page you will find links to many of the posters and presentations from the event.
