CHIMERA

UCL centre launched in Autumn 2020 uses tools such as machine learning to analyse currently unused intensive care data to find clues that will improve the care of critically ill adults and babies

Researchers at CHIMERA (Collaborative Healthcare Innovation through Mathematics, EngineeRing and AI) have access to anonymised data from 40,000 patients at University College London Hospital (UCLH) and Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH). Based on these data, they are developing and calibrating mathematical models to advance the understanding of how patients' physiology evolves during ill health and recovery. This will in turn provide new ideas for how critically ill patients can best be cared for.
