Dr Emma Goldstone

Emma qualified as a primary school teacher in 2003 and taught in London and Australia for three years before becoming part of the first cohort of DECPsy trainees at UCL in 2006. Following an initial placement in Hackney, Emma was employed as a trainee EP in Tower Hamlets, where she remained for another seven years after qualifying. Her experience there included spending one day a week in Children’s Centres supporting parents of children under-5 and working closely with CAMHS on several projects to develop mental health support in schools. In 2014, Emma spent 6 months in Uganda working in a children’s ward of a mental health hospital and coordinating the first Diploma in child mental health in East Africa.

In 2016, Emma spent a year working for Norwood, a Jewish charity in North London, which involved working with and supporting inclusion in the Ultra-Orthodox community. She then returned to Local Authority work in 2017, joining Camden EP Service where she has since become part of the critical incident support team and is link EP for several schools, including two schools for CYP with complex needs. Over the years, Emma has supervised TEPs from all the London courses and worked as a tutor at both the Tavistock and UCL.

Emma’s professional interests include parenting and early child development, the impact of culture, religion and spirituality, critical incident support, inter-professional supervision and working with CYP with complex needs.
