2024 will be the biggest election year in history, with elections held in countries representing half the world's population. Voting shapes the world we live in, and this year, elections will more than ever have a defining impact on our lives. One of the biggest democratic event in the world will be the European elections, taking place on 6-9 June 2024, with millions of EU citizens casting their vote to help shape the future of European democracy.

Citizens of most EU countries living in the UK have the right to vote in the European elections. This masterclass offers students the opportunity to discover the information and tools necessary to help spread the word, promoting democracy and awareness of the European elections among your networks.

Speaker biography

Typhaine Morillon is a Public Relations and Press Officer for the European Parliament Liaison Office in the UK. A French national, moving to the UK three years ago allowed her to combine her love for the UK, attachment to the EU, and long-term engagement in communicating with citizens about it. She spent the last 14 years working for the European Parliament’s communication services, focusing first on developing the offer and attractiveness of the Parliament as a destination for visitors, and then worked as an adviser to the Director for Campaigns, in particular on the previous European election campaigns in 2014 and 2019.

This session is open to current UCL students only. The session is co-convened with UCL Diplomacy Society, UCL European Horizons Chapter and UCL United Nations Association.
