UCL Gender and Sexuality Studies brings together a diverse group of staff committed to teaching and research in a wide range of subjects. Staff from many different departments contribute to the core curriculum, as well as offering specialist modules and working with students to supervise their MA dissertations and PhDs.

Every week, a different scholar introduces a topic they hold dear and at the end of the term you are allowed to write an essay on the one that spoke to you the most. It was amazing being able to have a supervisor from the Portuguese department, and carry out research on Portuguese history, literature and politics through the lens of gender, and just being totally free to explore my own interests whilst also delving into topics that were foreign to me.
