UCL in South Asia

UCL’s activities across South Asia are cutting-edge and impactful, addressing complex societal issues including those within the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Our work in the region is underpinned by equitable collaborative partnerships that support transformative education, training and innovative research.

Monica Lakhanpaul speaking
UCL’s reputation in South Asia is rising and our networks and connections are expanding, helped by our emphasis on high-quality research and underpinned by the Global Engagement Strategy. This will ensure that UCL positions itself as ‘partner of choice’ in India and beyond in South Asia.

MAKING AN IMPACT

UCL community

We're proud of our international and multi-cultural community which counts 713 students from South Asia currently studying at UCL and 4,612 UCL alumni in South Asia. Meet some of our students, alumni and academics through the slideshow above.

Research, partnerships and projects

To help support and promote activity, UCL has a South Asia Regional Network and a Centre for the Study of South Asia and the Indian Ocean World. Check the slideshow for examples of how we're delivering impact.

UCL South Asia Regional Network

The South Asia Regional Network facilitates cross-UCL connections and synergies between academic and professional services staff interested in collaborating with partners in the region.

Led by Professor Monica Lakhanpaul, Global Strategic Academic Advisor (India), the network meets regularly throughout the year to discuss current and future activity. See below for how to get involved.
