Guidance

The process below sets out the basic steps involved in writing and submitting a grant application at UCL.

We have also included below links to the guidance documents we have developed to support each of these steps. Many of the documents have been developed by the Life and Medical Sciences Strategic Research Facilitators with input from applicants and panelists.

We ask that you do not share these documents with colleagues outside UCL.

Before you start applying

  • Develop your research idea, using mentors/peers for advice, as appropriate
  • Think about appropriate funding opportunities
  • Review your career and funding/fellowship options
