Entrance
- Our main entrance is facing out on to the Here East business park and has a large orange ‘B’ to the left of the main doors and a set of wooden UCL letters to the right of the door.
- There are two sets of double doors – both open towards the outside of the building.
- We have a wheelchair accessible button to the right hand side of the entrance which automatically opens the main front door outwards.
- This takes you to our main reception desk, which is to your left on entry.

Wheelchairs
All our spaces are wheelchair accessible. All our venues have seating for wheelchair users and other people with different access needs.
Please tell us your access requirements before you visit, so we can recommend the most suitable space for you.
Public transport
- Overground (Hackney Wick)
Please turn right out of the new Hackney Wick station entrance and follow the path around to the right. Follow signs to the Copper Box and you will walk up stairs or use the lift to cross the bridge over the canal. Turn left at the end towards UCL at Here East. It is approx. 7-10 minute walk - Underground (Stratford)
- Bus 388 will drop you off at Here East a 1-2 minute walk from UCL at Here East
- Free shuttle from Stratford Stop X – will drop you off at Here East a 1-2 minute walk from UCL at Here East

Parking at UCL Here East
All day parking is available at Westfield, Stratford. There is a free shuttle bus service which runs regularly to the Here East site.
Sign language
If you require a BSL interpreter for an event, please contact us by email (hereeast-reception@ucl.ac.uk) at least a week in advance.
Assistance dogs
Assistance dogs may be taken into the school.
Hearing facility
There is an induction loop in all of our main event spaces. You can use this by adjusting your hearing aid to the ‘T’ setting.
Food and drink
There are a number of cafes/restaurants/bars located on site near the UCL building.
Lifts
If you require the use of the lift, please contact UCL Here East reception.
We have lift access to the first floor, which can be accessed through the BT Sport building next door. Staff on the front desk can direct and assist you.
The two 20-person lifts have wide automatic doors, tactile buttons and voice announcements. They open on to the landing and the UCL at Here East building can be accessed to the right through The Bartlett Real Estate Institute.
Toilets
There is at least one accessible toilet on each level of UCL at Here East, including an accessible shower on the ground floor. Our accessible toilets are left-hand transfer and the toilet doors have a handle that opens outwards.
Our ground floor accessible toilet is Radar key operated. A spare key is held at reception.
