As part of Being Well at UCL, the Staff Mental Health and Wellbeing Steering Group was launched in August 2021.
UCL launched the ‘Staff Mental Health and Wellbeing Action Plan’ in early 2021. The plan has four objectives each with a number of actions and measures. The plan is socialised through ‘Being Well at UCL’ with a focus on three themes: Healthy Mind, Healthy Body, and Healthy Work.
In August 2021, the ‘Staff Mental Health and Wellbeing Steering Group’ was launched and it is led by Professor Peter Fonagy, Head of the Division of Psychology & Language Sciences, and Kevin Argent, Director of Estates Development. The terms of reference for the Steering Group can be found below, however, the overall purpose of the group is to oversee and review the implementation of the ‘Staff Mental Health and Action Plan’ and to identify opportunities to align with the ‘Student Health and Wellbeing Steering Group’ to strengthen the relationship between the two strategies. These opportunities help to ensure that decisions made around health and wellbeing interventions and support are evidence based.
The ‘Steering Group’ reports into the People and Culture Committee, the University Management Committee and the Work Health and Safety Committee. See below for the details of the committee members.
