About the training
The Language Centres at UCL Centre for Languages & International Education (CLIE) and UCL School of Slavonic and East European Studies (SSEES) offer a range of evening language courses from beginners to advanced levels. The Evening Course Programme is designed to teach participants how to communicate effectively in a foreign language. All four skills are taught – reading, writing, listening and speaking – with a particular emphasis on oral communication. Courses cover the language as it is spoken today in everyday situations, from basic survival skills at elementary level through to fluent communication at advanced levels. Small class sizes allow maximum involvement of all participants.
For detailed course information and how to register for a language course please check the relevant CLIE/SSEES websites.
Please note:
UCL Language Centres charge fees to attend these courses. If you are eligible, you may apply to UCL DocSkills Language Support Fund for funding.
Courses run by CLIE and SSEES are in great demand and fill up quickly. We encourage you to register with them well ahead of the deadline.
CLIE are unable to guarantee a place on the chosen course if registration is completed after the language funding deadline
You may wish to pay for your chosen course to secure your seat prior to receiving an outcome regarding your application for language support funding. Please note this does not guarantee that your application will be successful, and the eligibility criteria below will need to be met.
