Summer school
What it is
Our Summer School is a five-day course presented by leading consultant ophthalmologists and clinical scientists from both our institute and Moorfields Eye Hospital. The course will cover current clinical and scientific aspects of the discipline.
Who it is for
The Summer school is aimed at anybody who is considering a career as an ophthalmologist, including late-stage medical students and trainee doctors. It attracts an international audience from as far afield as Australia.
Structure
The course will start with an introduction to Ophthalmology, structure and function of the eye, clinical history-taking and a broad range of clinical ophthalmology and cutting-edge research. As well as lectures, there will be practical sessions to give you a basic introduction to the clinical sciences allied to ophthalmology. There will also be a session on the residency application process and how to make your application stand out. There is also an opportunity to prepare a poster, with a prize on offer for the best.
