How to Activate CityEngine
This guide explains how to activate CityEngine downloaded from UCL Software Database.

Before you start...
- Download CityEngine from UCL Software Database.

- Please ensure you are connected to the UCL network. You can use the VPN Service if you're not. Click on the link for VPN instructions.
Instructions
1. Open CityEngine Administrator from your Start Menu.
2. If you have previously used keys to licence CityEngine, click on the Support Operations folder and choose Deauthorize.

3. Click on the CityEngine folder and select Advanced Concurrent Use.
4. Click on Change button to change the Licence Manager server details.

5. Enter the Licence Manager Server details: 27004 @ arcgislm-server.ucl.ac.uk and click OK.

7. To use the software away from the UCL network, you must either borrow the licence or be connected to the UCL network via the VPN service.
8. To borrow the licence you need to be connected to the UCL network (or use the VPN service).
9. Click on the Borrow/Return subfolder (under the CityEngine folder).
10. Type 30 into the Borrow For box, check the Borrowed tickbox and click Apply.

11. You can only borrow a licence for 30 days at a time. Once the licence expires you must borrow again.
12. You cannot return the licence and will need to wait for expiry before borrowing again.
