Moodle

There is a range of training and resources available to help you get to grips with Moodle:

Step-by-step guides

  • Moodle Staff User Guides: Use these guides on the Moodle Wiki to guide you step by step through different tasks and activities on Moodle

Self-paced training courses

  • Getting started with Moodle: This is a self-paced course which will help you learn the basics of using Moodle. It is aimed at UCL staff who are new to Moodle as well as those wishing to brush up on their knowledge.
  • Moodle Gradebook: This course is designed for all academic and professional services staff. It covers everything from basic navigation to advanced features like grade calculations and custom reporting.
  • Advanced Moodle Quiz and Question bank: This advanced course is tailored for academics and professional services staff who want to deepen their use of Moodle to create and manage quizzes.
  • Administering your Moodle course: Only for staff who need 'category-level' editing access. This course provides information about using some of the advanced features of Moodle commonly used by Administrators.

Consultancy, 1:1 (online)

After completing the Getting Started with Moodle course you will be given the opportunity to book a 1:1 consultancy session. These online consultancy sessions can help with specific issues and queries about:

  • specific Moodle functionality
  • digital learning and teaching challenges
  • digital learning activities
  • accessibility

Lecturecast

Step-by-step guides

  • Lecturecast Resource Centre: These guides cover step-by-step instructions for Lecturecast Scheduler, using Lecturecast with Moodle and all required key information.

Self-paced training courses

  • Getting Started with Lecturecast: This course has been developed for all staff to provide practical guidance in setting up, and understanding the Lecturecast platform and using it effectively in your teaching.

Consultancy

  • Lecturecast clinics: These-on-one online consultations to address any queries or topics related to Lecturecast, aiming to assist you with your teaching needs
