Flora is an experienced barrister, now a practising door tenant at 23 Essex Street Chambers, and a Board Member for the Legal Services Board (the oversight regulator for legal services). She has also recently completed a secondment as a policy developer at the Financial Conduct Authority. When in full-time practice, she focused on financial crime. Before joining chambers she had a varied legal career, which began at Clifford Chance, took in a spell at the Law Commission, and included part-time lecturing at the University of Law as well as running her own firm. She holds an MA in Laws, and her dissertation was granted a distinction and published in full (see below). She graduated from UCL in 1993, with a First in History.

Flora’s work will take in shareholder and other civil law remedies, as well as criminal and regulatory procedures.

Flora is a member of the Financial Services Lawyers Association, the Fraud Lawyers Association and the Criminal Bar Association.
Professional Experience
A criminal advocate of some seniority, Flora has been leading counsel in fraud trials involving multi-million pound losses, and is a Grade 4 CPS Prosecutor, which is the highest grade. Her practice was evenly balanced between prosecuting and defending.
