Parliamentary Papers p. 300. The award was split: £573 14s 10d went to Nicol & Lewis; £286 17s 4d went to Gully.

T71/869: claim by Joseph Tyrrell, as administrator of James Lewis, owner-in-fee of two-thirds; claim by Jno Gully (a note says '2 Claims 1 Return'). Anna Maria Bowen Lewis and John Nicol counterclaimed under 'a prior lien as vendors of two-thirds Jno Gully the purchaser not having paid any part of the purchase money or rec'd title'. James Manby Gully was the legal personal representative of Susan Gully, the executrix of Danl. Gully, a creditor on judgement dated June 1826 for £2787 18s 0d.

T71/1594 p. 131: letter, dated 26/10/1837, to Jas. M. [?] Gully, 37 Sackville St., Piccadilly, detailing the award. Letter, dated 24/10/1837, from J. M. Gully, asking for 'witholding of further award'.

T71/163 p. 130: 43 enslaved persons registered by John Gully in 1832, as owner.
