T71/1188: counterclaim, dated 31/08/1835, from George Hook Bawn, of no. 9 Newby Place, Poplar, as guardian of his child Elizabeth Mary Bawn. Elizabeth Mary Bawn, the daughter of George Hook Bawn and his wife Elizabeth, had been left 20 enslaved persons in the will of Mary Hook, of St Elizabeth, which had been placed in hands of William Thomas Bawn, of Manchester, 'and no further account has been given to me as the father of the above Elizabeth Mary Bawn'.
