T71/873: claim from Jacob Aemilius Irving, of 'St James but residing at Boulogne France', as owner-in-fee.

Philip Wright (ed.), Lady Nugent's Journal of Her Residence in Jamaica from 1801 to 1805 (Jamaica, University of the West Indies Press, 2002) pp. 22-3: states that 'James Irving MD 1713-1775, came to Jamaica from South Carolina and acquired 3 northern shore properties, Ironshore and Hartfield near Montego Bay, and Irving Tower near Martha Brae, which he left to four sons. The two sons surviving in 1801, John B. and Jacob Aemelius were both defendants in the lawsuit referred to (by Lady Nugent, on 16th September 1801), which concerned these properties' (note 1).
