George Smith paid £10,000 for a 1/5th share in the business in 1789 according to the History of Parliament. He was still a partner c. 1824.
London merchant firm. Unusually it appears to have continued under the same name after the death of the original partners. In 1824 the partners were given as John Smith and George Smith.
