Fearon's Place appears to have been subdivided according to the terms of the will of William Pusey Hayle, who died at some point between 1820 and 1823. Samuel Smith and Francis Smith registered 60 enslaved people as executors and trustees of William Pusey Hayle deceased; Francis Smith registered 30 enslaved people as attorney to Anna Hayle (22 inherited from William Pusey Hayle and 8 previously registered by Donald McLean as her agent in 1820). Samuel Smith made three further registrations: as guardian to Thomas Hayle for 16 enslaved people; as guardian to Edward Hayle for 16 enslaved people; and as guardian to Mary Angelina Hayle for 24 enslaved people - all were inherited from William Pusey Hayle. It's not clear whether William Pusey Hayle also arranged for the subdivision of the land.
