The dates listed below have different categories as denoted by the letters in the brackets following each date. Here is a key to explain those letter codes:

  • SD - Association Start Date
  • SY - Association Start Year
  • EA - Earliest Known Association

Although neither the Jamaica Almanacs nor the will of George Reid senior [made in 1819 and proved in 1823] reflect this, a document of the demise of the estate dated 09/08/1823 in the John Carter Brown Library suggests that Rev. Philip Sherard was a joint-owner of Friendship c. 1810 with George Reid jun., known to have been his partner.

1820 [EA] - 1823 [LA] → Attorney
1823 [EA] - 1827 [LA] → Owner
1828 [EA] - 1831 [LA] → Previous owner

Registered to Sir Charles Oakeley (who had died in 1826) in 1831 and 1832: this must have reflected representatives of Sir Charles Oakeley either as trustee or as mortgagee of the estate, which belonged to his son-in-law George Reid jun.
