James Ewing of Glasgow identified as sole surviving co-partner of the firm lately trading at Glasgow under the name and style of James Ewing & Co., with whom 'William Mathieson in his lifetime...constituted the said firm' (his executor was James Ewing Mathieson) in an announcement of the sale of plantations Montrose and Felicity.
