Awarded part of the compensation for Water Valley in St Mary Jamaica with Robert Spiller Wadeson and Edmund Danson (each of whom q.v.), as executors to the will of Isabella Maxwell Ryder (nee Nasmyth).
Son of Arthur Ryder Snr of Rood Lane (1754-1827), who was one of the trustees in the 1817 marriage settlement of Isabella Maxwell Nasmyth (daughter of Mrs Mary Sarah Nasmyth (q.v.)) to his son Thomas Ryder (1781-1831). The couple married in London 10/5/1817. Arthur Ryder Snr also acted as guardian to Isabella's brother Robert Nasmyth, who died in 1817.
Arthur Ryder Jnr of Commercial Sale Rooms, Mincing Lane, London (1783-1847), was named executor, together with Edmund Danson of Broad Street London and Robert Spiller Wadeson of Austin Friars London, to the will of his sister-in-law, Isabella Maxwell Ryder, dated 9 March 1831 and proved 26/9/1832. The indenture of 1817 and trustees' names are referred to in the will of 1831.
He was a cotton merchant based in the City of London, living at No. 3 Graham-terrace, Queen's Road, Dalston, London in 1842, when he was declared bankrupt.
