Samuel Baker is shown in the 1861 census living at Thorngrove House, Grimley (Worcs.) aged 67 born Bristol 'Esq., Magistrate of counties of Gloucester and Worcester', with his wife Eliza M. [?] aged 45 born Gloucester. Thorngrove is a Grade II* listed late 18C country house.
Samuel Baker died 10/05/1862 late of Thornygrove [sic] in the county of Worcester and of the City of Gloucester, will proven 28/06/1862 by John Garland Baker.
