This was possibly the London banker William Marsh of Marsh, Sibbald, which collapsed in 1824 though the fraud of Henry Fauntleroy, who was executed for forgery. The link is suggested by the presence in William Marsh's diary of letters to 'Mr Stevenson' in Jamaica and the receipt of bills of lading from 'Campbell and Allen': William James Stevenson had owned Beverley Settlement until 1823, while William Allen was attorney in 1823 and Alexander Campbell in 1826.
Extracts from the diary fro 1823 and 1824 are reproduced at http://www.jjhc.info/marshwilliam1846diary.htm [accessed 15/08/2017].
