Biography
Awarded the compensation for the Belmont estate with Thomas and Robert Crooks as joint tenants by devise under the will of James Crooks, although the compensation was clearly then intercepted by their mortgagee John Henry Noding (q.v.).
- Possibly the William Crooks born Tobago c. 1801-1802 who appears as a cabinet-maker in Edinburgh Canongate in the Scotland censuses 1841-1871. If this is the same man, his children are shown as born in Scotland from the late 1820s onwards.
