In Liverpool in the mid-1830s, awarded the compensation for a group of enslaved people in St George Jamaica as natural guardian of his four children, 'Entitled as remaindermen in fee in expectancy under the will of Henry Hough deceased dated 01/01/1800'.
T71/1606 27/09/1834 and T71/1607 27/06/1835 letters from Wm Rothwell, Liverpool 'has [sic] natural guardian of my four children'. Mrs Mary Ohlson (q.v.),the grandmother of children, has claimed 'has tennant for life'. See also Nicholas Draper, The Price of Emancipation p. 222.
