Will
Will of John Jackson of Plantation Goedverwagting, east coast of Demerary made in 1839 and proved 24/03/1843, PROB 11/1976/319. In the will he left legacies of £200 to his mother in Annan Scotland, and £500 to his sister Helen, and the remainder of his estate to the seven 'children of Margaret McKenzie', named William, Helen, Margaret, John, Susan, Bryce [?] and Isabella Jackson. The will makes clear that he was a manager or attorney rather than owner of the estate and of La Bonne Mere. |
