Grangemuir (Fife)
Grangemuir House, early 19thC house purchased by Walter Irvine and inherited by his daughter Elizabeth, the wife of William Robert Keith Douglas, in 1824. The Douglas's modified the house c. 1830. The estate is now a chalet park.

Jamaican-born widow of a prominent slave-owner; resident in Britain following the death of her husband in 1818. Accused - and acquitted - of the cruel treatment of some enslaved people whom she brought to Britain with her.
