Meroe: decorated stone fragments
Napatan and Meroitic temples (including the pyramid temples) were built of blocks quarried from local Nubian sandstone, and decorated with reliefs. The relief style follows Egyptian prototypes but with distinctive features in iconography, proportions and compositions.
