Tomb of Sobekhotep
(date: late Twelfth Dynasty (?); about 1800-1700 BC)
Plan of the tomb of Sobekhotep (after Petrie 1930: pl. XV.16).
The chronological position of Sobekhotep is not certain. There is a tendency to place him as last governor with a large tomb, because his name is so common in the 13th Dynasty. However the name Sobkehotep is also common in the Twelfth Dynasty. |
