Shurafa: some finds: UC 40598
date: late Roman to Byzantine Period (about 300-640 AD)
Top of a bone hair pin in the form of a hand holding a fruit. The fruit (?) has incised lines in a horizontal and vertical fashion creating a net pattern. The fingers are all separately cut, slightly curved, holding the fruit by the tips. Four fingers are holding the fruit from one side; the thumb is steadying it from opposite side. The rest of the pin is lost.
