UCL Autumn Staff Town Hall on 5 November: Update

30 October 2024

Tuesday’s all-staff Town Hall will now be held online. Those who have in-person tickets will be sent the online link to participate.

UCL's Portico, gatehouses and Main Quad seen from outside the main gates during Welcome Week, with 'Welcome' banners on the Portico and a lot of people in the Quad and on the street outside.

Due to uncertainty about travel due to announced industrial action on the London Underground, next week’s all-staff Town Hall on our strategic priorities and goals will be held online, rather than as a hybrid event as originally planned. The extent of the disruption now looks like less than initially anticipated, but the event will remain online-only.

We will send the livestream link to all those registered for in-person attendance, so there is no need to book an additional ticket. Questions for the panel will now be submitted online via sli.do and we will send the link to all attendees.

We’re sorry to make changes to this event so late in the day, and hope that we will be able to host future Town Halls in person, with lunch provided, as originally planned.

Details are below – there is still time to sign up to join us on 5 November, 1.30-3pm.

Hear from a range of voices from our community at the Town Hall as we reflect on the last year and discuss strategic priorities for the year ahead. You can still register for a ticket below.

We are nearly halfway through UCL’s Strategic Plan 2022–27, which sets out our whole university goals over five years. Join our Autumn Staff Town Hall which will provide updates on key areas of progress towards those ambitions.

We will be inviting a range of people to share some reflections on the past year and spotlighting successes and highlights from across the university, including hearing from staff as part of our UCL Change Builders series and students.

UCL’s leadership team will provide an update on key strategic priorities for the upcoming year – exploring opportunities and challenges ahead and the goals that we can collectively work towards. As always, there will be an opportunity to ask these senior leaders questions and have a conversation about the areas and issues that are important to you.

Our panel will be chaired by Professor Jennifer Hudson (Vice-Provost Faculties) and will include:
  • Dr Michael Spence, President & Provost
  • Professor Geraint Rees, Vice-Provost (Research, Innovation and Global Engagement)
  • Aimie Chapple, Vice-President (Operations)
