Watch a new video about Excel London - the 2018 venue for UCL summer exams
25 January 2018
UCL's summer 2018 exams will be held at Excel London, a modern conference centre in London's Docklands. Watch the interactive video about the venue.
Excel London was secured after UCL Academic Services worked with the Students' Union to identify the right venue for holding the university's exams. Exams will take place in a range of bright, calm, air conditioned rooms. There are plenty of places to eat and extensive seating and study areas, as well as a prayer room and on-site first aid facilities. UCL will run a pop-up exam help desk right through the exam period, to help with any questions or problems that turn up.
Excel London is in Zone 3 and is served by two stations on the Docklands Light Railway. The exam period will run from Wednesday 25 April to Friday 8 June 2018.
In collaboration with the Students' Union UCL, the Examinations Team has produced a short film about the new venue.

High levels of module registration pave way for earlier release of exam timetable
More than 89% of you met the 6 December deadline for confirming your 2017-18 module choices on Portico. This impressive engagement, in the first year in which the deadline has been set before the end of First Term, means it will be possible for Academic Services to release the 2018 exam timetable much earlier than in previous years. Earlier publication of the timetable has been a priority of UCL and the Students' Union for several years so thank you for responding to the new deadlines.
Late Summer Assessments 20 August-7 September 2018
Late summer assessment (LSA) will be available in 2018 for all students who need to re-sit an exam or have been granted deferred assessment.
UCL's Education Committee has been working towards the introduction of late summer assessments to improve the student experience and better align UCL with the rest of the UK Higher Education Sector.
Following a successful two-year pilot, the Late Summer Assessment Period for 2018 will run from 20 August until 7 September.
The Late Summer Assessment period is your next opportunity for assessment after the main exam period and will be counted as a full attempt of reassessment. If you are unable to attend an examination or complete any assessment then you need to apply for a deferral under the Extenuating Circumstances regulations.
