"Our data suggest that, for a similar age profile, the oral health of athletes is poor. It's quite striking," said Professor Ian Needleman (UCL Eastman Dental Institute).

"Young maternal age at birth is becoming a marker of social disadvantage as women who have been through higher education are more likely to postpone pregnancy until their 30s," said Professor Ruth Gilbert (UCL Institute of Child Health).

Professor John Sutherland (UCL English Language & Literature), said society tended not to think about widowhood. "We haven't really paid [widowhood] enough attention, socially, culturally or even in literature."
