Intervention
We have incorporated findings from our longitudinal work on emotional processing into several programmes aimed at preventing adolescent depression (http://www.ucl.ac.uk/educational-psychology/team/sandra_dunsmuir.htm). In collaboration with therapists, we have tested these programmes with teenagers in schools. We are examining the cognitive and emotional factors that change through participating in the programmes. The long-term aim is to employ findings from basic research to develop and refine more effective methods of prevention.
