Travelling to UCL

The two UCL campuses are located in the Bloomsbury district and in Stratford, East London. There are easy connections to UCL from London's airports and extensive public transport system.

Getting to our Campus

No matter where you are travelling from you will find that UCL is very well connected. The Bloomsbury campus is within walking distance of Euston, St Pancras and King’s Cross mainline stations (all within 15 minutes).

UCL East is located near the Aquatics Centre and ArcelorMittal Orbit in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in Stratford, London with great transport links.

As there are no parking facilities on campus and parking in the wider area is neither free nor in great supply, we strongly recommend that you use public transport to get to us. See below for the many quick and affordable ways to travel that London has to offer.

London Underground (Tube)

The closest Tube stations to UCL's Gower Street site are Euston Square (Hammersmith and City, Metropolitan and Circle lines), Warren Street (Northern and Victoria lines), Euston (Northern and Victoria lines) and Russell Square (Piccadilly line).

The closet Tube station to UCL East is Stratford (Underground Central and Jubilee Lines, Elizabeth Line, Overground, DLR, Rail).

Bus

UCL's Gower Street site is served by many Transport for London bus routes.

Buses travelling from north to south stop in Gower Street, immediately outside UCL's main gate, while those travelling from south to north stop outside Warren Street station, about five minutes' walk from UCL. Services to these stops include route numbers: 10, 14, 24, 29, 73, 134, 390.

The closest bus stop to UCL East is the London Aquatics Centre.

National rail

UCL Bloomsbury is within walking distance of Euston, St Pancras and King’s Cross mainline stations.

UCL East is within walking distance of Stratford and Stratford International stations.

Eurostar

St Pancras station is the London Eurostar terminal. Just a short Underground or bus ride, or a few minutes' walk from UCL Bloomsbury, this offers you direct high speed rail connections to Paris (2hrs 15 mins) and Brussels (1hr 50 mins), with onward connections to many European destinations.

Coach

Coaches from London operate to most parts of the UK, many offering direct and very economical services.

Air

Below are directions to UCL Bloomsbury from London's five main airports.

There are bus and taxi alternatives from each of the airports. Taxis will be expensive, possibly over £50. Use only registered metered taxis from taxi ranks and confirm the approximate price before starting the journey.

If you are planning to use the Underground for part of your journey, try to avoid the peak periods of 8-9am and 5-7pm. Also, please be prepared to carry your luggage up escalators.
