Climate change and adaptation

Understanding climate change risks, especially for those marginalised, and adaptation through capacity building, developing institutions and incentive structures.

We investigate climate change associated risks, especially for poor and those marginalised, for cities, urban settlements and remote areas. Adaptation is investigated through understanding water risks and management, urban planning, nature-based solutions for urban heat and flooding, impact evaluation using experimental and non-experimental techniques, community histories and outlooks, capacity building and developing institutions and incentive structures.  We evaluate the effectiveness of climate-change related policy initiatives including climate change mitigation, climate finance and equitable adaptation. Our work has influenced national and international scientific discourse through leadership roles, collaborations and global risk reduction efforts.
